Our Story
LoopSoil started with a simple observation: every week, millions of pounds of food scraps go to landfills where they produce methane — a greenhouse gas 80x more potent than CO₂. Meanwhile, gardeners spend billions on synthetic soil amendments.
We asked: what if we could close that loop? Collect the scraps, compost them professionally, and deliver the resulting premium soil right back to the people who created it?
Founded in Portland, Oregon in 2022, LoopSoil now serves over 4,200 households across three cities. Our USCC-certified facility processes food waste into nutrient-rich, chemical-free garden soil in 8–12 weeks. Every bag we deliver is proof that waste is just a resource in the wrong place.
